Located in Northern Rock county Roots Down Community Farm offers MOSA certified organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs to our members in a twenty one week CSA subscription. Our philosophy begins with sustainable methods for a biologically healthy system of growing. Our land is worked with respect and care utilizing techniques which sustain and build the soil supporting it’s long term health. With three acres under cultivation our operation is quality driven and locally oriented providing personal care in the growth, handling and delivery of our produce. We deeply value the direct relationship we have with our CSA members and families as an integral part of the farm and it’s yearly cycle. Your commitment as a member allows us to properly prepare and focus on growing quality organic crops each season and provides you with the bounty of our efforts. Even in unpredictable environments, our diversity provides a unique selection to enjoy throughout each season. 2013 will mark our sixth season as a FairShare sponsored farm growing quality food for local families in the greater Madison and Janesville area. Our shares are available in three sizes standard, basic, and bi-weekly to suit your families unique needs. Over eighty families shared in our 2012 season, and we had an excellent year so we will be offering an increased amount of shares for 2013. Our crops are selected for taste, productivity, and popularity. We strive to supply you with quality and variety offering around 40 crops in over 100 varieties each season. Work shares are available as well for those seeking a deeper engagement with their food and farm. We hope as members of our farm you will join us for on farm events, harvests and picnics to celebrate our farms seasonally unique diversity together as well. Informational resources on identification, recipes, nutritional information and storage will also be provided to members through our new interactive website and weekly on-line farm newsletter.
