SHARES SOLD OUT FOR 2013

Young Earth Farm specializes in delicious, clean and carefully packed organic produce.  We grow 150 varieties of over 20 different types of vegetables.  Your vegetables will arrive in your kitchen looking, smelling, and tasting wonderful.  Our post-harvest handling practices assure that your produce will last for days and sometimes weeks after you get it home.   We handle the produce “like eggs” from the time we harvest from the plants until the item goes into your CSA box to avoid bruising for better quality.   We package items that benefit from being wrapped to hold in moisture during travels to your pick-up site, again to assure quality.

Young Earth Farm is located about 40 miles northeast of Madison, Wisconsin.   Your Farmers, Shirley Young and Karol Niemann, started Young Earth Farm in 2005 in good conscience to provide delicious, healthy, locally produced vegetables without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.  Since 2010, Young Earth Farm became USDA certified organic through MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Agency).   We take great pride in growing certified organic produce with care in order to protect our planet and it’s precious natural resources.

CSA Members share in our seasonal harvest every or every-other Wednesday June through October. CSA members will receive top quality produce from Young Earth Farm.  We value our relationship with our CSA members who ultimately invest in our farm each season.   In return for that investment, members receive the best variety and selection from the farm each week of the CSA season.  Members also will enjoy the bi-weekly newsletter that is sent our via e-mail exclusively to our CSA membership.  The newsletter includes news from the fields, general updates and announcements from the farm, and useful and delicious recipe ideas using the items that are in season at that time.  Farm events are also a part of being a CSA; the farm will again host the Annual Autumn “harvest” gathering, the Scarecrow Parade Festival where we get together for family-friendly fun on the farm, creating scarecrows and celebrating the CSA.

You can also access our produce Saturdays throughout most of the year at Madison’s Dane County Farmers’ Market.
