Troy Community Farm, Madison’s first urban farm, has been growing certified organic food since 2001. Its 5 acres are devoted to intensive vegetables, herbs, and flowers, with a focus on CSA. Join Farm Director Claire Strader to see Troy’s cover crops in action and to discuss timing of cover crop establishment and plow-down/incorporation, interactions between cover crop and crop rotations, and the philosophy and finances of putting land into cover crops. Dr. Erin Silva, UW Organic Production Specialist, will give an update on her notill organic crop and vegetable research, as well as updates on notill organic research at other universities. Please RSVP to Erika Jones by August 3 at erika@csacoalition.org.
