Join Food Safety experts to learn more about the importance of food safety, and what the new FDA Food Safety Modernization Act means for growers. In addition, learn about the GAP and GHP programs, additional resources, buyer specifications, and participate in creating an example SSOP for your farm. Speakers will include Jill Ball, a Food Safety Scientist at DATCP; Larry Hood, managing director of the food safety consulting company, Technical and Business Services; Steve Ingham, Administrator of the Division of Food Safety at DATCP; and Tim Leege, Program Manager with DATCP.

Dates and locations for the Food Safety Workshops are:

  • Friday, March 25th, 9:00AM-2:00PM in Rice Lake, as part of the Northwest WI Regional Food Summit
  • Monday, April 4th, 1:00PM-5:00PM in Viroqua
  • Wednesday, April 6th, 12:00PM-4:00PM in Oconomowoc
  • Friday, April 15th, 11:30AM-3:30PM in Green Bay

The Viroqua, Oconomowoc, and Green Bay workshops cost $20 and include materials and a break.
