Lakeshore Technical College is hosting an Intro to Home Brewing class on April 2 that will provide participants the opportunity to learn about this budding hobby.

From 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 2, participants in Introduction to Home Brewing will experience hands-on activities in wort production, hop addition, wort chilling, yeast addition and bottling. They also will learn about the ingredients needed to brew beer, the importance of sanitation in the brewing process and proper storage tips.

Potential styles to be brewed include ambers, porters, stouts, pale ales and more. Products from a local homebrew supplier will be available during and after class.

For details on the class, click on link: Intro to Home Brewing seminar.

Teaching the course are Trevor LaRene, a Beer Judge Certification Program certified beer judge and homebrewer, and Paul Hoffman, homebrewer.

Participants must be age 21 or older. The fee is $49, and the class is No. 27619. It will be held in room F109 of the Flexible Training Arena on LTC’s Cleveland campus.
