COALITION FARM TOUR: Animal, Vegetable, Delectable

June 16, 2011 @ 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Coalition Event

Join the CSA Coalition for our first field day of the season! We will be visiting two farms – Small Family Farm and Sylvan Meadows – nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin near La Farge. The tour will begin at Small Family, where Jillian and Adam Varney will talk about integrating animals into a predominantly vegetable operation and lead a walk through their farm, followed by a brief bring-your-own lunch. Then we’ll head down the road to Sylvan Meadows and meet John, Virginia and Sylvan Goeke, who raise 100% grassfed cows, sheep, and pastured pigs on over 60 acres of land as well as a host of other products including vegetables, honey, mushrooms, fruits and woolen goods. We’ll spend a couple of hours at each farm so you have a chance to get to know each farm and the farmers, ask questions, and enjoy the beautiful landscape.Starting Location:
