Payment Options

The costs of CSA shares vary by farm and by share type, with the average cost of 20-week standard vegetable share being approximately $550.

Through Partner Shares, we provide financial assistance to as many eligible households as possible.  We can pay for half of your full share cost, up to $300 per year towards CSA vegetable shares.   If your full share cost is less than $600, we can pay for half of the share.  If your full share cost is more than $600, then we will pay $300 and you are responsible for paying the rest of the share cost. We require that you complete the portion of your payment by September 15th.

When you send in your Partner Share application, you are accepting the responsibility of paying your entire co-payment to FairShare CSA Coalition (checks made out to CSA Coalition) and picking up your vegetables from your farm each week.  Current or post-dated checks equaling your full co-payment cost are due when you apply. If you application is not approved, FairShare staff will return all checks.

Partner Shares CSA Payment Options:

Deadlines for Amount Due:
  • Date that you sign up: $25
  • July 15th: 1/2 of co-payment due
  • Sept 15th: Full payment due

Along with your farm sign-up form and Partner Shares application, we require $25 in cash or by check to be deposited as soon as your application is approved and the remaining balance in pre-dated checks or Quest vouchers to be deposited on the dates indicated. The initial $25 is not in addition to your share cost, but part of your co-payment.

i. Single Check: Send a check, payable to CSA Coalition, for the total amount due with your application.

ii. Multiple Checks: Create a payment plan, completing half of the payment by Jul 1st and the full payment by Sep 15th.  Remember at least $25 of your share is required with the application. List all future check deposit dates on the 1st or 15th of the month. All checks must be written, pre-dated, and mailed with the application.

iii. Quest Card: To use your Quest account, we will process of a portion of your share payment each month through September.  Due to USDA Food & Nutrition Service guidelines, we will not be able to deduct the full payment at one time.  The deposit of $25 by check or cash is still required with the application, and you can pay the rest of the share with your Quest account.

On the Partner Shares application you will select the amount you would like to pay by check (at least $25 at first), and then list the amounts you would like to pay by Quest each month.  We will require that all payments be completely paid by September 15, 2012.   On the application, please let us know which day of the month will be best for you to have the payments processed.  We only process Quest payments once or twice a month, but will do our best to process the payment as close to your preferred date as possible.

Once you have submitted the farm sign-up form and Partner Shares application, we will send you a confirmation of your payment plan and a paper Quest Card voucher to complete for each month’s payment.   Please review this payment plan, complete all of the vouchers with your signature, and return the vouchers to us at your earliest convenience.  We will not be able to fully process your application and sign you up for your farm share until these signed vouchers are returned.

iv. Multiple Methods. You can pay for part of your share by check and part of your share by Quest.
