2016 Dane County Food Days

The Dane County Food Council is excited to announce the 2016 Dane County Food Days to be held on October 21st toOctober 23rd! We are planning to develop a list and cross promote community events happening that weekend that celebrate food in Dane County. Our focus this year is on food waste and a regenerative food system, but will also encompass other food topics. According to the EPA, in 2013 alone, more than 37 million tons of food waste was produced in the U.S, feeding landfills, when we should be feeding people. Prairies and Pollinators Workshop

Join River Country in learning about pollinator gardens and beekeeping! The workshop is from 8am to 12pm and includes two presentations. Arlena Schott will teach how to plant a butterfly/pollinator garden in your backyard.  Arlena has her own landscaping business and is the host of "Garden Wise" TV show. Then participants will learn about the craft of beekeeping today with Dr. Gordon Waller, President of the WI Honey Producer Association.
