Honey Hill Organic Farm and Apiary – where the bees make the business.
Our family run business is in its fourth year as a certified organic farm. What makes our CSA unique is that we not only grow both vegetables and fruit for our members, but floral bouquets, honey, sunflower oil, peaches, seasonal berries, and homemade pickles. We hope to add a mix of delicious grains to our list of offerings in the year to help sustain a complete diet from your share. Our weekly newsletters offer farm news and insights, photos from the fields, on farm activity invitations, and delicious and easy recipe ideas using many of the items in your box in each recipe!
As an apiary, we raise 15 colonies of bees which are surrounded by the organic produce fields. We’ve also planted wildflower mix, white clover, and acres of sunflowers, along with fruit trees just to sustain the bees. The complex flavor of our honey is reflected in the diversity of the fauna available to the bees.
As a small family run farm we offer a limited number of shares because we don’t have many hired workers outside of our family. Our main focus in on the quality of our box contents and open communication between the farm and our members.
The farm is located on Wisconsin Hwy. 133 The Great River Road along the Mississippi River. The drive to the farm offers spectacular views of the river valley, but if you come while the 15 acre field of sunflowers is in full bloom the trip will be unforgettable!
