Welcome the taste of fall at FairShare CSA Coalition’s Plough & Barrel Dinner, Tuesday, Oct. 7 at The Coopers Tavern, 20 W. Mifflin St. on the capitol square in Madison.
This four-course meal features produce from three of the Coalition’s 50 farms paired with brews from Lake Louie Brewing for an evening of good company and great food and drink.
“FairShare farmers deliver some of the best tasting vegetables and other farm products found in our region,” said Chris Brockel, FairShare’s executive director. “Come celebrate the harvest and taste for yourself as Coopers has put together a scrumptious menu based on products from three of our wonderful farms.”
Featured farms include:
Soup – Creamy butternut squash soup with mushrooms, fried sage, apple and crispy pancetta. Paired with Impulse Drive Scotch Ale
Entrée – House-made lamb sausage and butternut squash gnocchi served with charred radicchio, Brussels sprouts and fennel buerre blanc. Paired with Lake Louie Maple Surple American Brown Ale
Salad – Greens tossed with kale in a maple vinaigrette with faro, goat cheese, pomegranate and roasted butternut squash. Paired with Golden Booty Cream Ale
Dessert – Butternut squash bread pudding with stout chocolate sauce and butterscotch. Paired with Mr. Mephisto Russian Imperial Stout
