Farm Inspirations with Garrett Peterson of Troy Farm Garrett Peterson first delved into Madison’s food system as an intern at Troy Farm and Madison FarmWorks, both part of Community GroundWorks. He subsequently worked as a Food Security Operations Specialist at the Community Action Coalition and returned to Troy in a staff capacity as soon as an opportunity presented itself. Building a Future with Farmers II: A Guide Following a survey they conducted earlier this year, the National Young Farmers Coalition published a guide of results and recommendations for increasing the success of young farmers. The survey garnered responses from over 3,500 farmers under the age of 40, and brought to light the common challenges young farmers currently face. County Executive Parisi visits Vermont Valley Farm County Executive Joe Parisi visited Vermont Valley Community Farm on Wednesday, Aug. 23.  As a CSA member of the farm, he was able to see exactly where his share of vegetables came from for the week while discussing the state of CSA and organic agriculture with farmers Barb and Dave Perkins.
