CSA Open House: Sunday, March 8! 23rd ANNUAL CSA OPEN HOUSE 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Monona Terrace, 1 John Nolen Dr., Madison Free to the public, attendees can learn more about FairShare and CSA! Approximately 35 CSA farms will have information, smiles and 2015 sign-up information. Meet your local farmers, ask about their operations, find pick-up locations, learn about on-farm events, and choose your share. Register Now: 8th Annual Bike the Barns! The 8th annual Bike the Barns is scheduled for Sunday, September 14, 2014. FairShare’s spectacular fundraising bicycle tour that features local farms and local food! This year’s ride is heading northeast of Madison; it starts and ends at Fireman’s Park in Columbus and travels to Luna Circle Farm (Rio), Burr Oak Gardens (Rio), JenEhr Family Farm (Sun Prairie), and Emerald Meadows Family Farm (Columbus), with an optional water stop at Sassy Cow Creamery. FairShare Awarded Buy Local Buy WI Grant to Expand Workplace CSA FairShare CSA Coalition was recently awarded $35,000 from Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin to expand deliveries of fresh local food to Wisconsin workplaces [press release]. Workplace CSA programs offer employees the convenience of receiving fresh produce at work while supporting a small family farm. Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin is a DATCP economic development program designed to increase the production and sale of local foods. In the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model consumers and farmers work together.
