Troy Farm

Troy Farm is a program of Community GroundWorks, a nonprofit organization that creates equitable and resilient food communities. Troy Farm has been growing certified organic vegetables on Madison’s northside since 2001 and is proud to be the city’s first urban farm. Our production focus is on intensive two-wheel tractor and hand-scale techniques that make the most of limited urban spaces. We grow vegetables, herbs, and sprouts for our community and deliver those through our CSA program and local groceries. Since Troy Farm is located within the city of Madison, our members visit our farm-stand-style pick-up at the farm each Thursday evening during the harvest season. In addition to selecting their own vegetables from our market-style farm stand, members also have access to our u-pick flower and herb garden. On select Thursday evenings throughout the summer, members can also purchase farm-fresh pizzas baked to order in our outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and enjoy a picnic on the land while listening to live music. Troy Farm also educates the next generation of growers through Community GroundWorks’ Field School, an experiential learning community in which students engage in hands on training and formal classes in preparation for careers that transform the food system.
